You should get him a nice leather jacket or somthing. Usually when people ride bikes they have to have a jacet. Get him one of them motorcycle lookin ones. Thats what my step dad and all his friends wear.

a leather jacket would look good plus some aviator sunglasses for that 'Born to be Wild' look. If not then a gift card for a motor bike store like Harley Davidson would be good too.

Something kind of inexpensive would be some premium wax. That will keep the bike nice and shiny for a good long time. Some thing kind of expensive would be a nice motorcycle jacket or a pair of boots. If both of you can ride on the bike, a romantic gift could be a little road trip. Get hotel room in a neighboring state, just ride together and have a fun weekend.

Get him one of those automotive detailing kits. Wax, armourall etc.

boots, leather suits, gloves, body armor, cold killers, pocket warmers, knee sliders, bike stand, tools, luggage, lap timers, gift certificates to local sportbike store or parts/mechanic shop. T-Shirts or drink koozies with the brand name of his bike on it. Miniatures or models of his type/brand of bike.
Research local bike events in your area. Often clubs for a particular brand of bike have regular meetings or rides at local bars and restaurants. Then get him a gift certificate to that bar or restaurant.

A garage. That cover that he already has is junk. No matter how "good" a cover is, they don't completely protect a bike from the elements.

Maybe a face mask for cold weather, tinted visor or boots would be a great option.

A repair manual.
It gives him the option of doing his own work, if he's so inclined.
If he isn't, it gives him the knowledge of what his mechanic will have to do when he brings the bike in for service.
Either one can save him a bundle.
Knowledge is power, if properly used.

It all depends on what you want to spend and if you know his tastes
If you're looking at clothing especially leather one size does not fit all. Jackets are cut differently depending on the manufacturer and they also are different weights & the quality of the leather varies. Boots like any other shoes need to be tried on for comfort first. Chaps are relatively safe as long as you his inseam. Gloves are also a matter of fit & feel. Make sure anything you get can be returned or replaced.
You can also get other things like polishes, cleaners, etc. An interesting site that offers a bunch of biker products that every biker needs is http://www.shtuffforbikers.com/index.html What I really like about their products is the biker look and the crazy names. I like, use & give these as gifts and if he has a sense of humor, he'll get a kick out of them.
hope that helps
