Thanks for posting this MrDpen, latest news is that we’re taking Westminster council to court on the grounds that the parking charges are illegal.
It’s going to cost £50K – minimum, but everyone’s donating the equivalent of a tankful of petrol – £10

There is nothing.. repeat NOTHING Westminster won’t do to screw money out of the public. The more they collect the bigger their bonuses! ( 48k in some cases). As soon as they get their slimy hands on the technology they will make you put a pound in a slot to walk down the street!
Westminster City …
Westminster City Council (WCC) is the only council in Britain to charge motorcycles & scooters to park in solo motorcycle bays, yet WCC is the richest borough in Britain. The council promised more bays and security devices (to stop thief’s lifting bikes into the back of vans) but these have still not materialised even though the council has already made over £4 MILLION in only 9 months!
The next ‘No To Bike Parking Fees’ protest is on 1 JULY 09.
