This is a motorcycle charity event for the effort to wipe out breast cancer which was sponsored by the American Cancer Society. The local Renagade outlet organized this group. There were over 420 registered riders and over 9,000.00 was raised and donated to the American Cancer Society Making Strides for Breast Cancer fundraiser with a small portion going to women’s cancer wellness groups on Long Island. On 14th March 2010, 15,000 motorbikes from all over the United Kingdom converged on Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire, the small village which is close to RAF Lyneham, where our brave Afghan heroes return wounded or worse….this amazing bike ride was organised to raise money for the care of our wounded and the bereaved. Mike visited the charity on one of their days at Castle Combe, this is some info from their website:
The charity can give you an insight into how a disabled motorcyclist can ride a solo motorcycle, or even try to race as a paraplegic.
There is information about conversions, adaptations, who/where and what, as well as lessons learned and the opportunity to get back on a bike.
The site has been set up by Talan Skeels-Piggins, a former PE Teacher, sports enthusiast and avid biker. Talan was paralysed from the chest down in a motorcycle accident in March 2003, but that didn’t stop him from continuing with his passion for riding bikes. It did take him a few years to realise that you could still ride and now he wants to share his knowledge with others who are wanting to get back in the saddle.
Talan, Russ, Graham and the Launch Crew hope to show other paralysed/injured bikers that they can still enjoy the thrill of riding two wheels. With the co-operation of Castle Combe Circuit, a safe and steady route back into biking has been developed. Find out more at: http://www.thebikeexperience.co.uk

Joining A Motorcycle Parade on 9/11!

So we literally heard about this parade while we were driving in a car. We immediately got out, ran to Donovan’s bike, and went to the parade location. The rest is history… ALSO correction… There were over 3,000 bikers.
