My boyfriend is going to be taking motorcycle repair classes soon, and his birthday is also coming up, so I thought it would be a nice gift to get him various tools to use for his class and for working on motorcycles in general. What are the basic tools that he should have? He already has some basic tools like wrenches, screwdrivers, and hammers. Or does anyone know of a basic all-in-one kit tailored for motorcycle repair that I could buy?

He may have a tool list or tools may be included in his tuition.
Call his school and inquire.
Mechanics tend to acquire (and make) quite a large collection of tools over time.
There are some smaller tool kits designed to be carried on a bike.

The best tools are not cheap so mechanics like to buy them as and when they can. I would suggest a good torque wrench or a multimeter – both are essential in the long run.
