Buying an Ipod for boyfriends birthday with a custom designed skin- should I wrap it seperate, or stick it on?

Small general opinion question here!

I’m buying a black iPod nano for my boyfriend as a birthday gift. I have also just ordered a custom designed vinyl skin cover thing off Wrappz on the internet that I designed myself, as a protective cover, with a photo of a mountain biker that I know he likes. The skin comes on a sheet of vinyl paper that you peel off.

Would you wrap the vinyl sheet seperately, or stick it on and then wrap up the ipod with the skin already stuck on?
